Celebrity-celebrating site JustJared.com has posted pictures of Gyllenhaal in Morocco on the set of the film.

According to JustJared, the actor is in the North African nation taking in the sights with girlfriend Reese Witherspoon. Although the candid pics aren’t from scenes in the film, they do show Gyllenhaal in his costume for the role of Prince Dastan for the first time.

The Prince of Persia will also star Gemma Arterton ( Quantum of Solace, Three and Out), Ben Kingsley (Sexy Beast , BloodRayne), and Alfred Molina (Raiders of the Lost Ark, Spider-Man 2). As Dastan, Gyllenhaal will attempt to prevent a nefarious nobleman from obtaining the continuum-controlling Sands of Time. Arterton’s character, the princess Tamina, will join him on his quest.

Filming began late last month and will move to London by the project’s end. The Prince of Persia is currently set for release Memorial Day weekend of 2010.
